A.C. Altenbern arrived Thursday with a car
of goods belonging to his father-in-law, Mr. Ed Hanke, Mr. and Mrs. Hanke having
arrived Tuesday morning.
Ignac Cesnik had some land seekers here from
Minnesota the past week, some of whom purchased land.
A.C. Prellwitz
assisted Wm. Abel to plant his corn.
Joseph Jordan purchased two pigs in
Fairchild one day last week.
The Foster crew is still busy piling stumps.
Attendance at Sunday school last Sunday was 32.
G. Samberg and
children, also Ignac Cesnik, spent Sunday forenoon in Greenwood.
Gus and
Frank Abel were Willard callers on Wednesday.
Messrs. Harvey and Samuel
Long and wives, Ada Clair, Mrs. Wm. Dammeier and John Ingalls attended the
commencement exercises at Greenwood Friday evening.
Contracts were let on
Saturday, whereby 240 rods of turnpiking will be done on the road west of Frank
Abel's. Wm. And John secured the contract.
School will close Thursday in
order to give the teacher, Mr. Harvey Long, the opportunity to go to Greenwood
Friday and take examinations.
