E.J. Rossman went to Minneapolis on business
Monday.
E.N. Paul was a business visitor at Eau Claire over Sunday.
C. Grashorn of Mayville was in town on business last Thursday.
Postmaster Hartson has recently had the south wing of his house re-shingled.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman were Neillsville carnival visitors last Thursday.
Harry and Fred Hartson went down to the county seat Friday to take in the
carnival.
The Norwegian Ladies' Aid will meet with Mrs. Ole Moberg,
Wednesday, June 23rd.
Mr. Callahan, soo auditor, was in town Monday
auditing the books in agent Barlow's office.
The Ladies' Aid Society will
meet with Mrs. E.A. Anderson, Friday afternoon, June 18th.
Harry Palms
and Floyd Volk went down to Neillsville last Wednesday to take in the carnival.
Mrs. Fred Oelig and Dr. Schofield drove down to Neillsville Saturday to
visit friends.
Chris Kippenhan of Loyal was in town on business the first
of the week.
Dr. K.W. Baker assisted Dr. Neilson in performing an
operation at Withee last Thursday.
The Loyal Temperance Legion will meet
in the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.. All children are cordially
invited to be present.
King's Daughters will meet next Wednesday
afternoon, June 23 with mrs. Watson. Meet a team at Miss Agnes Norris' at 1:30
p.m.
Mr. A. Amundson and wife of Eleva arrived Saturday with a carload of
household goods. They will live in the second story of Elias Peterson's house.
Mr. Amundson returned to Eleva Saturday, his wife remaining.
The Ladies
of the Thursday Club will meet at the Presbyterian Church at 9 o'clock,
Thursday, June 24, for the purpose of cleaning the church. Ladies, bring your
pails, brooms, mops, dusters, etc. Each lady will please bring something to help
made a good picnic dinner.
John Steiger, Roy Rossman and Wellen Hartson
took in the carnival at Neillsville last Thursday.
Mrs. W.H. Reese of
Dodgeville came up Saturday morning for a visit among former Greenwood friends.
She returned home Wednesday morning.
The fence in front of the Carter
property on Main Street has been removed, which adds to the appearance of the
place. Andrew McCormick also recently took down the fence in front of his place.
Many small improvements of this kind are being made in the city, which though
small, improve the appearance of the residences.
R.F. Kountz was up from
Neillsville Tuesday on business.
Dr. H.R. Schwarze and Miss Bethel were
county seat visitors Tuesday.
W.R. Howard took a carload of John
Stanton's stock to Chicago Saturday.
Miss Ella Zettler of Marshfield
visited over Sunday with her sister, Mrs. P.W. Gullord.
Laura Garitzke of
Manitowoc arrived yesterday for a few days
Visit with Alma Kern.
Mrs.
Len Howe visited in Mondovi last Friday, returning Saturday, accompanied by her
sister.
L.A. Thrapp tranacted business at Black River Falls and Grand
Rapids Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mrs. Peter Hecker returned yesterday from a
two week visit with relatives at New Holstein, Wis.
Cassim and Frankie
Brown of Augusta are visiting at the home of John Booth. They came Wednesday.
W.H. Rossman of Warner recently got his hand cut quite badly in the shingle
jointer in the mill at Hemlock.
John Huntzicker of Neillsville was in
town Tuesday attending the meeting of stockholders of the Greenwood Telephone
Co.
The B.Y.P.U. will give a basket social at the home of Mrs. Mary
Dingley Friday evening, June 18th. Everyone is invited.
Mrs. Henry
Bushman of School Hill, Manitowoc County, visited last Friday and Saturday at
the Bushman home on the North Side.
Clare Hunt spent Sunday with his
family here. He was accompanied to Eau Claire Monday by his brother Donald, who
will work for the I.H.C. this summer.
