H.M. Root was up from Neillsville one day last week.

The Ladies' Aid Society will meet with Mrs. Albert Shanks Friday, July 23rd.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grosser and two children of Chicago are visiting at the Einfeldt homes north of town.

The Loyal Temperance Legion will meet in the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. All children are cordially invited to be present.

Neillsville has postponed her home coming for one year. The reason given is that many will be going to the Exposition at Seattle this fall.

There was no ball game on the home grounds Sunday, as the Granton team did not show up. Next Sunday they will go to Marshfield for a game with the team at that place.

John Servaty of Owen was in town on business Friday.

Sheriff Robert Eunson and District Attorney Crosby were in town Friday.

Misses Kennedy and Woodward of Neillsville visited friends in town one day last week.

J.A. Jacobson returned Wednesday from his trip to Michigan.

Forrest Shanks took Conductor Richmond's place on the branch during the latter's absence last week.

Helen Klinke, went to West Bend last Thursday for a few weeks visit with relatives.

The Soo Line has started a war on hoboes who try to deadhead their way on their trains, believing that they were responsible for the death of a brakeman last week. (Stanley Republican)

Mrs. H.W. Hunt returned Friday from a visit to South Dakota. She reports Dr. Brown and family well and prosperous. Dakota is a lonesome place in Mrs. Hunt's opinion, but otherwise pleasant. The Browns expect to visit here in the fall.
