Condit, Mrs.
T.D. (Catherine) (17 JUN 1838 – 8 Feb 1916)
Mrs. T.D. Condit died at her
home on Hewett Street Tuesday morning after an illness of several months’
duration. She was born Catherine Peterson at Stockholm, Sweden, on June 17,
1838. When five years of age she came with her parents to Pine Lake, Waukesha
County, and grew to womanhood in that locality. She joined the Episcopal Church
at an early age and was always an active worker in that church. She was united
in marriage to T.D. Condit in Milwaukee on Oct. 30, 1857. They lived at Rubicon
for five years and then removed to Neillsville. They lived on a farm for a
number of years and then removed to this city. Three children were born to them,
Mrs. Amelia Stange of Diller, Neb., and Mrs. Sarah Warman of Warman, Minn.,
surviving their mother. Mr. Condit, five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren survive the deceased. Mrs. Condit became identified with the
Congregational Church many years ago. She was always an active church worker and
lived a life which was notable for the charity, kindness and goodness which it
exemplified, and as a result her death is a matter of sincere regret to all who
knew her. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, services to be conducted at
the Congregational Church.
