R. Peterson cleared a piece of land near the
depot.
Charles Wollenberg purchased the meat market of Alexander Shanks.
Some of the "Winnebagos" held "green corn dance" in the street on Monday
evening.
School commenced on Monday, Sept. first with E.G. Herrel as
principal, Miss Leonard, intermediate, and Eva Arms, primary.
H.M. Weston
of Minneapolis sold to John Stewart the handsome lot south of the Park House,
and also the Fritz Garritz place, and to T.A. Anderson, a lot north of Woodkey's
blacksmith shop.
Joseph Philopena was engaged in moving W.H. Begley's
barns, also G.C. Andrew's blacksmith shop, and raising Frank Pfeffer's building.
Work on the Presbyterian Church commenced.
Geo. Meek built an
addition to his home, 12 x 12.
The brick work on the new bank building
has reached the second story.
Chris Richeleu bought a lot from E.E.
Crocker, nearly opposite the cemetery, for the purpose of erecting a new
residence.
