Violet Humke, 72 died January 19, 1999 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., January 23 at Immanual United
Church of Christ, rural Greenwood.
Violet Kuester was born March 21, 1926 in town of Warner to Norbert and Lena
(nee Abel) Kuester. She graduated
from Greenwood High School in 1944.
After high school she moved to Milwaukee where she worked at Perfecto Corp. and
for Wm Feldstein who owned Junior House Fashions.
She married Eldore Humke on September 20, 1947.
For the next 50 years they farmed on highway “O” in the town of Warner.
After retiring in 1996, they moved to Greenwood.
She was a member of Immanual United Church of Christ where she sang in
the choir, and was a member of Busy Bees Homemakers Club.
She also enjoyed collecting antiques and was an avid bird watcher.
She also loved to travel.
Survivors include her husband, Eldore; one son DaNeil Humke, Greenwood; one
daughter, Karlene (Thomas) Kroll, Big Bend; two grandsons, Josh and Justin Krall
and one sister, Gladys Awe, Owen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one twin brother who died at birth.
A memorial will be established in her name.
