Garbisch, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Golden - 2 June
1970)
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch of Granton will celebrate their
golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 30, at the home of their son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch, with an open house from 2 to 5
p.m. for all relatives, friends and neighbors. They were married June 2, 1920,
at Mapleworks Lutheran Church by the Rev. Martin Hasz. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm
and Marcus Garbisch and Ardina Helm Nowack were the attendants.
Arnold
Garbisch was born August 18, 1897, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Garbisch in the Town of
Grant. He attended school there and also the Granton School. The former Gertrude
Helm was born February 20, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Helm in the Town of
Lynn. She received her education in Lynn and at the Zion Lutheran School.
Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Garbisch farmed in the Town of York
for 13 years, and then moved to Granton where he was employed in plumbing and
electrical work for Lee Bluett. In 1948, Mr. Garbisch established his own
electrical and plumbing business.
Mr. Garbisch’s hobbies are hunting,
fishing, and gardening, and Mr. Garbisch likes to do sewing, rug making,
quilting and also gardening.
Mr. and Mrs. Garbisch have three sons and
two daughters, Leland and Marvin Garbisch and Mrs. Joyce Opelt, all of Granton,
Mrs. Lorraine Wenck of Woodstock, Ill., and Erlin Garbisch of Slinger. There are
18 grandchildren and all are expected for the occasion. No invitations will be
sent, all relatives and friends are welcome to attend the open house.
