Anita A. Schecklman, age
92, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at
Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
at 10:30AM on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in
Loyal. The Rev. Steven Brice will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint
Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Life Tributes Funeral
Home-Spencer from 4PM until 8PM and on Friday at the church in Loyal from 9:30AM
until time of services. A parish rosary service will be held at 7PM on Thursday
at the funeral home in Spencer. Her pallbearers will be Scott and Joel Dietsche,
Jordan and Luke Kromanaker, Dustin and Tyler Schecklman.
Anita was born
July 21, 1921 in Shawano County the daughter of William and Ella (Fraedrich)
Genskow. She attended Valley View Country School near Tigerton. Early employment
included work at Badger Meter Co. in Milwaukee, which produced water meters but
during the war the company converted to an airplane factory where Anita worked
at making propellers for military airplanes. She married Anthony Schecklman on
Oct. 28, 1950 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Tigerton. Together, they
farmed and raised their family near Loyal until retirement.
Hobbies
included sewing, cooking, canning and baking her well-known biscuits which were
sometimes referred to as "Best Biscuits".
Anita was a member of Saint
Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal, Saint Anthony's PCCW and various homemakers
clubs. Anita was instrumental in creating the Starlite Homemakers Club in the
Loyal area.
Survivors include her husband Anthony of Marshfield; four
children: Bonnie (Leland) Dietsche of Spencer, Jolene (Thomas) Zwicke of
Wisconsin Rapids; Patricia (Kenneth) Kromanaker of Marshfield and Tim (Mary)
Schecklman of Appleton; 13 grandchildren: Scott (Nicole) Dietsche of Marshfield;
Tammy (Larry) Kleinschmidt of Marshfield; Bryan (special friend Michele)
Dietsche of New Albany, IN; Eric (special friend Liz) Dietsche of Westboro;
Nicole (Joey) Hanneman of Appleton; Joel (Christy) Dietsche of Loyal; Jordan
Kromanaker of Minnetonka, MN; Luke Kromanaker of Marshfield; Marissa (Ted)
Salzman of Appleton; Tyler and Trent Schecklman both of Appleton; Brandon
Schecklman of Eau Claire and Dustin (Kristen) Schecklman of Loyal; 13 great
grandchildren with one on the way in September; three sisters: June (Edward)
Schecklman of Neillsville; Carol Hauser of Marion and Arlene (Ralph) Wuske of
Tigerton along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and her
extended family at Stoney River Assisted Living in Marshfield.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, one son Richard, a grandson Michael Anthony
Dietsche, one great grandson Michael Anthony Scott Dietsche, five sisters: Elda,
Edna, Gladys, Betty and Ruby and one brother Milton.
In lieu of flowers,
the family is accepting memorials in Anita's memory to Saint Anthony's Catholic
Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Joseph's Palliative
Care, Three Oaks Golden Living Center and Stoney River Assisted Living Center
all located in Marshfield for the wonderful care our mother Anita received.
