Kopp, Ferdinand (12 March 1887 - 21 May 1970)
Funeral services for
Ferdinand Kopp, 83, of Rt. 5 Marshfield who died May 21 were held at 2 p.m.
Sunday from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield, the Rev. Eldore
Messerschmidt officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Kopp was born March 12, 1887, in Poland and at the age of 22 came to
America and settled in Chicago, Ill., where he was employed in construction
work. He was married there June 17, 1911, to Amelia Marks, who died July 20,
1946. His second marriage to Mrs. Esther Gehrke took place July 11, 1951. She
preceded him in death on April 25 of this year.
Mr. Kopp came to Clark
County and farmed from 1912 to 1946, then moved ingot Marshfield where he was
employed at the Roddis Plywood Company (now Weyerhaeuser). He later worked as a
gardener at the Roddis home. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the
Senior Citizens club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Schwarze
of Marshfield; two sons, William Kopp of Cambridge and Albert Marks of
Neillsville; three stepchildren, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Budtke of Marshfield, Mrs.
Charles (Geraldine) Florence of Loyal, and Mrs. George (Gloria) Florence of
Pittsville; six grandchildren; 11 great-step-grandchildren and three
step-great-grandchildren.
