------ Heindl, Nicholas (24 MAY 1887 - 11 MAY 1965)
Nicholas Heindl, 77, route 1, Abbotsford, died Tuesday,
May 11 at 1:55 a.m. at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a
patient for a week.
He had been in ill health the past 15 months.
Friends may call at the Maurina Funeral Home at
Dorchester after 1 p.m. today, May 13.
A parish rosary will be said there at 8 p.m. tonight and a solemn mass of
requiem will be sung at St. Louis’ Catholic church, Dorchester, Friday at 11
a.m. with two sons, the Rev. Francis Heindl and the Rev. Arthur Heindl,
participating.
Nicholas Heindl was born May 24, 1887, at Kaukauna.
He received his education at Holy Cross grade school, and in 1911 came to
the town of Holton.
His marriage to Elizabeth Lenhard took place at St.
Louis’ Catholic church June 23, 1912.
The couple farmed in the town of Holton until three years
ago when he retired and his son, Bernard, took over the operation of the farm.
Mr. Heindl was a member of St. Louis church and the Holy
Name Society. He was active in the
township; having served as town clerk for 37 years.
He was also clerk of the Pickard school district for 10 years.
For the past five years he served as president of the Hull Town Mutual
Insurance Co., which has its office at Colby.
Surviving are his wife, five sons, Rev. Francis Heindl of
Holy Cross Seminary, La Crosse, Rev. Arthur Heindl of St. Mary’s Catholic parish
at Fennimore, Urban and Bernard Heindl, rural Abbotsford, James Heindl, rural
Dorchester, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Riegert, Stetsonville.
There are four grand sons and four grand daughters.
He also leaves three brothers and two sisters, Frank
Heindl and Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Verboomen, Wrightstown, William and Andrew Heindl,
Kaukauna, and Mrs. Joe (Magdien) Kieffer, Randall, Kan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene and three
brothers, Martin, George and Bernard Heindl.
