Meinholdt, Louis A (01 DEC 1909 – 24 APR 1983)

Louis A. Meinholdt, 73 of 142 E. 4th St. died at 4:30 p.m., Sunday at Memorial Hospital.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services or visitation. The body will be cremated and the ashes interred in the Neillsville Cemetery.

He was born Dec 1, 1909 in Greenwood, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore E. (Ida Decker) Meinholdt and received his education there. He was employed by the railroad on the east coast for several years and then came to Neillsville, where he was employed by Wegner’s Restaurant. He was the owner and operator of Louis’s White Dot Tavern in Neillsville for more than 30 years before retiring because of ill health.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a charter member of the Neillsville Winx club.

He married the former Agnes Megner June 5, 1935 in Decorah, IA. She survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Joan) Wavrunek of Neillsville.

He was predeceased by two sisters and seven brothers.
