It was ten degrees below zero on Monday morning.

John Shanks went to Chicago with two carloads of sheep and one of cattle.

Bright and Bryden shipped two carloads of stock Monday; Jim went along as cowboy.

Iver Hembre was setting up the cigars Monday morning. It was a bouncing boy.

Geo. Marvin and Mrs. Clara Armstrong were married on Monday by Rev. John Schmalz.

"That's all right," said Will Oelig as he was pulled out of the river onto the ice for the second time Saturday night, "I was bound to be in the swim anyhow."

On Tuesday evening a literacy society was formed, and was known as the American Classic Society.
