Teacher's examinations were
held in Loyal Friday and Saturday.
The iron bridge across Rock Creek just
south of town was being put in place this week.
J.M. Palms had his toe
smashed while working on the new bridge Wednesday.
The farm residence of
Chas. Arndt in the town of Beaver was totally destroyed by fire Thursday
evening.
Lee W. Gibson resigned his position as assistant cashier at the
bank on account of ill health.
During this week there was quite a
commotion in the schools, three of the large scholars being expelled, while
several others were touched up with the rod. A meeting of the board was called
and it was decided that in part the scholars were wrong, and one teacher was
censured for expelling a scholar from a part of his studies indefinitely.
