Main Street, Columbia, is much
wider, becoming more solid and will receive more shaping and surfacing. The
machine work has turned out a large number of stones and sand rock. “Rock
Hounds” have been busy picking.
Mrs. Wally Everson and son, Kenneth, of
San Jose, Cal., spent last week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with Georgeana and
William Schulz. They spent Wednesday night and Thursday with her sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Vornholt in Neillsville. Friday the Everson’s
visited Mr. and Mrs. Old Aspen, where they were joined by Mr. Everson and left
from there on their homeward journey to California.
Mrs. John Gahl and
Mr. and Mrs. James Dickson of Rockford, Ill., visited last week Friday with the
Schulzes. They left for Minneapolis in the afternoon for a visit with relatives
there.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Syverson of La Crosse spent several days last
week with Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin and Tarra. They called on Leo Sischo of
Milwaukee who is spending two weeks on his property here, near his son Dick
Sischo, and family. The Syversons left Friday for their home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Al Mashin were super guests of the George Mashins Friday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Teasdale of Madison came Friday to visit the Mashins, leaving Monday
for home.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Rutka and Karen, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Neubauer, Christine and Kathy, all of Milwaukee, spent the weekend on the R.S. &
R. Ranch.
Robert Truog and children Judy, Christine, Larry, Jacquelyn
and Karen, spent several days last week on the ranch.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Martins of Elkhorn spent the weekend at their cottage here.
Mr. and Mrs.
Roland Liskow of Milwaukee and her mother, Jennie Winter of Pine Valley, visited
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bohnhoff and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Lockman last week Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel of Pine Valley were guests Saturday of the
Bohnhoffs.
Mrs. Bohnhoff visited Mrs. Harry Ambelang Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoesly of Marshfield entertained guests at a cook-out at
their cottage at Hatfield Saturday.
