Washburn (9 July 1970)
The Washburn Homemakers club held its annual
picnic Sunday on the Albert Lincoln lawn with a large attendance. The picnic
also was in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lincoln of Moses Lake, Wash., with
relatives from Minneapolis and Hutchinson, Minn., Beloit, and Harvard, Ill.,
present.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bell of Janesville spent from Thursday
until Monday with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph |Short. They
celebrated Mrs. Bell’s 79th birthday, which was July 3, and Mrs. Short’s 82nd
birthday, which was July 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ammentorp and daughter of
Milwaukee spent the weekend with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Urban and daughters, her mother, Mrs. Nellie Urban of Owen, and his
relatives near Withee. They attended his high school class reunion at Withee
Saturday night.
The Cannonville Ladies Aid will meet at the church
Wednesday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Kellner, daughter,
Karen, and son, Michael and her mother, Mrs. Mildred Kerns of Chicago called on
his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short, Sunday afternoon. They also called
on Mr. and Mrs. Richard Qualley as Mrs. Qualley was his teacher when he attended
Sleepy Hollow School south of Cannonville around 30 years ago.
Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Lincoln and family of Moses Lake, Wash., spent from Tuesday until
Sunday afternoon with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Tannem and Jean and Lorraine Lincoln of Minneapolis also spent the weekend
with their parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Schultz of Omro, Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Schultz of Wind lake, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knutson of Merrillan and Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Rutherford of Black River Falls were July 4 guests of their father,
Paul Schultz.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Zimmerman and family of Marshalltown,
Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zimmerman and family of Moline, Ia., spent the
weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman
accompanied his son, Robert, and family Monday on a week’s camping trip through
Minnesota.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Krause and daughter, Cheryl, of Menomonee
Falls spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Irving Stevens, and his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause. They returned home Sunday afternoon, but Cheryl
remained for a week’s visit with her grandparents and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban
and daughters.
Mrs. Ron Wren and family of West End are spending this
week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
Pretsch and family of Stratford spend the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Wanda
Pretsch, and son Earl.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams arrived Friday night
for a two-week vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams, and his
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg, at their cottage in
Hatfield.
Mrs. Delores McNeil of Streamwood, Ill., spent last week with
her mother, Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr., and her sons, John and Donald, who are
spending the summer with their grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Poler of
Granton visited Saturday afternoon at the Mrs. Art Odell home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Kissling and son, Mark, and a couple from Ann Arbor, Mich., spent
last week visiting Mr. Kissling’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kissling.
Mr.
and Mrs. George Reinart and family of Tomah visited Saturday at the Clarence and
John Reinart homes.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schultz of wind Lake and his father,
Paul Schultz, were overnight guests Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knutson in
Merrillan.
Mrs. Harold Elmendorf, Carrie Sexton and Mrs. Frank Short
were dinner guests Saturday at the Ralph Short home.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Havlicek and family, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hudec and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Walters of
Granton were guests Sunday of Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Wallace and Mrs. Mildred Drew of Milwaukee, who are vacationing at their homes
in Neillsville, visited Sunday afternoon at the Clarence Reinart home.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lincoln and family of Moses Lake, Wash., called on Mrs. Art
Odell Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Mashin and sons of Tomah visited
Thursday evening with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams.
Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Schultz and Lawrence Reinart of Wind Lake spent the weekend and until
Wednesday with Mr. Schultz’s father, Paul Schultz and with their mother, Mrs.
Henry Hubing, and brothers, Clarence, John and Martin Reinart, and sister Mrs.
Wade Lepke.
Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and family were dinner guests
Saturday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert.
Mr. and Mrs. Art
Short and daughter, Elaine, were Sunday afternoon callers at the Ralph Short
home.
Mrs. Bob Galbreath called on Mrs. Art Odell Sunday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended the Conservation picnic at Sherwood Park July 4
