Zakrzewicz, Kenneth Robert (24 May 1969 - 19 August 2013)

Kenneth R. Zakrzewicz, age 44, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013, at his home in the Town of Taft, rural Thorp. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Thorp Funeral home in Thorp with Pas tor Randy Van De Loo officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 25, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thorp Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Kenneth Robert Zakrzewicz was born on May 24, 1969, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, WI, to Eugene and Dorothy (Wisniewski) Zakrzewicz. He received his education at Gilman area schools and graduated from Gilman High School in 1987. Over the years, Kenny worked as a mechanic at Ace Oil Co. in Thorp; drove milk truck for Losiewicz Milk Trucking in Withee, and most recently, was a heavy equipment operator for B & D Excavating of Eau Claire.

In his spare time, Kenny had many interests, but especially loved to hunt, fish, shoot trap, and raise pheasants. He was always available to lend a helping hand to others whenever needed. Kenny volunteered to cook chicken for the American Legion and played taps at funerals when he was younger. Kenny was a member of the Goggle Eye Trap Club of Thorp, the Roosevelt Rod & Gun Club of Lublin, and the Sons of the American Legion in Lublin.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Wesley) Hakes of Cadott; two grandchildren: Dustin and Brooklyn Hakes of Cadott; his father, Eugene Zakrzewicz of Chippewa Falls; six siblings: Michael (Aggie) Zakrzewicz of Guymon, OK, David Zakrzewicz of Thorp, E. J. (Kathy) Zakrzewicz of Sheldon, Connie (Tony) Szak of Thorp, Barb (Schott) Rhamey of Apple Valley, MN, and Phillip (Charity) Zakrzewicz of Sayre, OK. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his mother Dorothy Zakrzewicz, on June 23, 2001.
