Atcherson, Auralia Evelyn Clara Louise (Wetzel) (26 NOV 1922 - 22 NOV 2013)
Auralia Evelyn Clara Louise (Wetzel) Atcherson, a resident of Oakwood Hills
Retirement Living in Eau Claire, joined her parents, beloved brother, and
husband in Heaven on November 22, 2013.
Auralia, a long time resident of
the Unity area in Clark County, was born on November 26, 1922, to the late
Enanda (Behringer) and Carl Wetzel.
After graduating from Greenwood High
School, Auralia worked at the Farmer's Store in her home town until her marriage
to Wilferd Charles Atcherson, on November 26, 1949, her 27th birthday. They
settled on the Atcherson family farm in the Unity area from the time they were
married until 2006, when ill health forced them to move from their much-loved
home.
To their union, four cherished daughters were born: June Ann
(Melvin) Kloehn of Avon Park, FL, Joyce Marie (Phil) Wall of Mt. Horeb, Janice
Ellen (Michael) Oestreich of Eau Claire, and Alice Louise (Robert) Kellett of
Bedminster, NJ.
Auralia worked alongside Wilferd on the family farm,
helping to expand and improve it every year. Each summer, Auralia planted and
harvested a large organic vegetable garden, freezing and preserving the food for
her family's use during the snowy Wisconsin winters. She was known as an
excellent bread maker, one who ground her own wheat to make delicious homemade
breads and rolls. Auralia took pride in her family, her farm and her home-making
skills.
Auralia was predeceased by her much-loved brother, Junior, in
1949; and her husband, Wilferd in 2012. She leaves behind her four daughters and
her grandchildren, Lisa (Kloehn) Barnes, Glenna (Kloehn) Fine, Rhonda (Kloehn)
Lorenz, Brittany Wall, Brennan Wall, Dr. Jennifer (Oestreich) Eickstaedt, Dr.
Amanda Oestreich and Faith Kellett; as well as her great-granddaughter, Bailey
Barnes.
Family will receive guests from 2 - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November
26, 2013, at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood. Auralia will be laid to rest
in the Greenwood Cemetery during a private ceremony after the visitation.
Auralia was a wonderful mother and role model for her family. She will be
greatly missed by her loved ones, and they know that she is watching over them
from Heaven.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice for
their caring and thoughtful guidance during the last several years.
Online condolences may be expressed at

family with arrangements.
