Johnson, Donald W. (Resigns City Attorney - 1971)
Donald W. Johnson, city
attorney for the last 15 years, has submitted his resignation from that post to
the city council. No effective date was given, and Johnson said he would
continue to serve at the pleasure of the council until a successor could be
found.
Johnson recently accepted appointment as corporate counsel for
Clark County, working in conjunction with the welfare department. This is a
position held by his partner, Michael W. Brennan, until the latter was appointed
county judge.
“When Judge Brennan was practicing with me, we could take
care of the city work,” Johnson said. “But in recent years the volume of it has
grown so greatly that it is more than I could care for alone. I can handle the
