Humbird (17 June 1971)
Mrs. Don Hawley and children returned to Goodman Monay after a week’s visit
at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Fees. Sunday a family picnic
supper was held in the park. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Fees and his
daughter, and children of Goodman, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Fees, Jr., and children
of Alma Center, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Walker and children.
Last Sunday
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crume, Mrs. Nyhus and Helen Buros of Westby spent the day
with the Hein families, as Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hein were with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. F. Hein.
Mr. and Mrs. Antone Meihack of Marshfield camped at the
Hein cottage and spent some time fishing in Lake Emerson.
Mrs. Ernest
Olson, Mrs. Johanna Olson and Mrs. Arnold Matti were in Eau Claire Monday. Mrs.
Johanna Olson and Mrs. Matti consulted an optician.
Mrs. Emma Haag and
Leonard of Melrose called at the Henry Laffe home Friday.
Mrs. Alice
Amport of Union Grove is visiting friends here. She spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Rupnow and will visit at the John Greub home again before returning
home.
Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop, Alton and Tammy, attended
a picnic for children with defective hearing and the deaf at Mormon Coulee Park
near La Crosse.
Mrs. Elgie Hardwick attended the wedding of a
granddaughter in Altoona last week.
Mr and Mrs. Arnold Matti spent
Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce at their farm home near Neillsville. Mr.
and Mrs. Pierce plan to sell their farm and move into town.
Mrs. Lena
Gerber returned to Madison Thursday after spending several days with Mrs. Emma
Gerber.
