Mattson, Rhonda (Marriage - 19 June 1971)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Curtiss was the scene Saturday, June 19, at 4 p.m. of a double wedding ceremony uniting Miss Pamela Massey and William M. Mattson, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Miss Rhonda Mattson and Robert Buss, both of Owen. The Rev. Roger L. Tellock performed the double-ring ceremonies before 275 guests at an altar decorated with bouquets of white chrysanthemums and pompons.

Mattson and his sister are the son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mattson of Owen. Young Mrs. Mattson’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Massey of Tucson, Ariz. Buss is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Buss of Owen.

Mrs. Joanne Wittek sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Song of Ruth.” Miss Donna Hamm was the organist. Jerome Schmitt and Victor Schizik served as ushers.

A reception was held at the Meadow View Country club following the ceremony.

The new Mrs. Buss was given in marriage by her father. She chose a traditional bridal gown of peau with full circular chapel train, styled with a molded empire bodice having a sheer, square yoke centered with buttons and a narrow stand-up collar edged with venise braid, which also encircled the waistline. The bishop sleeves and the A-line skirt were trimmed with lace appliqués, as was the train. Three rows of venise braid trimmed the skirt and the hemline. Her veil of illusion was secured to a semi-bonnet of pearl-studded venise lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and pompons.

Matron-of-honor was Mrs. Dennis Lulloff, Owen. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Dale Raatz, Unity, and Miss Diane Buss, Owen. They wore pant-skirt formals with empire bodices of coral chiffon styled with high, ruffled necklines and ruffled jabots centered with gold velvet covered buttons. The sheer, long pouf sleeves had ruffled cuffs. Waistlines were detailed with wide, gold velvet ribbon banding. The attendants carried giant, coral-tipped mums.

Dennis Wilson Owen was the bestman. Groomsmen were Dale Raatz and Dennis Lulloff.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School and of the Eau Claire State University School of Nursing. He is employed at a Marshfield hospital. The groom, is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, is employed in Dorchester. The couple will be at home in Abbotsford following a wedding trip to Canada.
