Massey, Pamela (Marriage - 19 June 1971)
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in
Curtiss was the scene Saturday, June 19, at 4 p.m. of a double wedding ceremony
uniting Miss Pamela Massey and William M. Mattson, both of Tucson, Ariz., and
Miss Rhonda Mattson and Robert Buss, both of Owen. The Rev. Roger L. Tellock
performed the double-ring ceremonies before 275 guests at an altar decorated
with bouquets of white chrysanthemums and pompons.
Mattson and his
sister are the son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mattson of Owen. Young
Mrs. Mattson’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Massey of Tucson, Ariz. Buss is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Buss of Owen.
Mrs. Joanne Wittek sang “The
Lord’s Prayer” and “The Song of Ruth.” Miss Donna Hamm was the organist. Jerome
Schmitt and Victor Schizik served as ushers.
A reception was held at the
Meadow View Country club following the ceremony.
The new Mrs. Mattson
wore a lace-covered satin gown styled with lace bell sleeves and an empire
bodice covered in front with a chiffon bow which cascaded to the floor. She
carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and pompons on a white lace Bible as she
was given in marriage by Harold Stange, the groom’s Uncle.
Maid-of-honor
Miss Wanda Underwood, Dorchester, and bridesmaid Miss Vicki Stange, Colby, wore
pant-skirt formals of coral chiffon fashioned with high, ruffled necklines,
sheer, pouf sleeves and waistlines detailed with gold velvet ribbon. They
carried giant, coral-tipped mums and wore coral-tipped pompons in their hair.
Bestman was Michael McCarron of Colby; Dale Simon of Owen was the groomsman.
The bride is a graduate of Catalina High school in Tucson. Her husband, an
Owen-Withee High School graduate, is a sergeant in the Ari Force. The newlywed
Mattsons will live at Tucson, where the groom is stationed at Davis Montham AFB,
after a wedding trip to West Plains, Mo.
