Gundlach, Lucia (12 May 1881 – 08 Feb 1967)
Mrs. Lucia Gundlach, 85, Loyal, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 8in
the Wood County Hospital at Marshfield where she had resided the past six years.
Services were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Saturday, February 11,
at 10 a.m. with the Rev. N. E. King officiating. Burial was made in the parish
cemetery. Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Frank Degenhardt, Alvin Miller, Harold Tucker, Bert Brown,
Percy Voight, and Max Langfeldt
The former Lucia Grams was born May 12,
1881, in Germany, and at the age of 12 years came to the United States and made
her home with an aunt in Milwaukee. Her marriage to Carl Gundlach, who preceded
her in death October, 1956, took place in Milwaukee.
After their
marriage, the couple resided at Madison and Manitowoc before coming to Loyal in
1950. In 1957, she went to Marshfield and lived with her son, Charles, until she
became a patient at Wood County Hospital.
She was a member of St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church at Loyal.
In addition to her son, Charles,
survivors are a sister, Mrs. Martha Friske, Milwaukee, two grandchildren, and
three great-grandchildren.
