Stowe, Earl (26 Feb 1881 – 12 Jan 1967)

Earl Stowe, 85, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield of complications. He had been a patient there sinceTuesday.

Services were held sy 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at the Myre Funeral Home with the Rev. Lelan Shaw, pastor of the Loyal Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mr. William Chambers, soloist, was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. John Olson. He sang “What a Friend” and “Nearer My God To Thee.”

Pallbearers were Alfred Schultz, Russell Johnson, Otis Kaith, James Hallowell, Harold Novak and Richard Marten.

Mr. Stowe was born February 26, 1881, in the town of Beaver. His marriage to Anna Litka, who preceded him in death May 3, 1965, took place March 18, 1914, at Loyal.

After their marriage they lived one year in Montana, and then returned to the town of Beaver where they had resided on the present farm for the past 52 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Ora) Scheel, and a son, Howard, both of Loyal; two brothers, John, Unity; and Albert, Freland, Washington; a grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
