Grosbier, Robert M. Grosbier (11
Feb 1918 – 28 Jan 1967
Robert M. Grosbier, 48, of Marshfield, died at
11:40 p.m. Saturday, January 28, in St. Joseph’s Hospital. He had been in ill
health the past year.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon 31, at a.m.,
at the Very Rev. L. H. Timmerman officiating. Burial was made in the Gate of
Heaven cemetery.
Mr. Grosbier was born February 11, 1918, in Marshfield,
and received his education there. He also attended the University of Wisconsin –
Milwaukee.
He married Mary Zeilder April 25, 1942, at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Wausau. The couple made their home in Milwaukee until 1945, when they
returned to Marshfield. He had been employed at Clover Cream Dairy then at WDLB
radio station for 15 years, and for the past two years at E-Z Kamper
Manufacturing Company, Loyal.
Mr. Grosbier was a member of the Holy Name
Society and the Knights of Columbus, and had served in the U.S. Navy from 1938
to 1940.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert,
Berwyn, Illinois and Joseph at home; two daughters, Joan, a student at Wisconsin
State University-Stevens Point; and Mary at home.\; his mother, Mrs. Anna
Grosbier, Marshfield; two brothers, Gordon, Alburquerque, New Mexico; and
Roland, Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Clem Esselman, Loyal and Mrs.
Maurice Gray, Riverside, Illinois.
