Kammerer, Mr. and Mrs. William (07 March 1917 – 07 March 1967)
A Granton
couple, Mr. and Mrs. William Kammerer observed their 40th wedding anniversary on
Tuesday, March 7, with their family joining them at their home for a luncheon
and evening together.
Coming for the evening were their only son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kammerer and daughter Wanda, Marshfield. Their
granddaughters and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Alene Schmidtke, Stratford; and Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Vanderwyst and daughter, Sandra Dee, a great granddaughter.
The former Ethel Stoltz was born December 26, 1892 at Milford, Nebraska and
William Kammerer was born September 10, 1892 in Rockwell, Iowa. The couple were
married March 7, 1917 at Milford, Nebraska.
They spent the first years of
their married life farming in Iowa, later moving to northern Wisconsin, and then
to Rockford, Illinois. Mr. Kammerer was employed for nineteen years at the
Rockford Forge Plant until his retirement five years ago when they moved to
Granton buying the former Clark Waterman home.
His hobbies are wood
craft, flowers and gardening. Mrs. Kammerer is confined to her home much of the
time with Arthritis. but had always been active with sewing and household
duties.,
Many cards, gifts and congratulations were received from
relatives, friends and neighbors wishing them many blessings in the future.
