Vinger Family (Return
from Trip - 13 FEB 1952)
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger returned last
Wednesday, Feb. 13 from a 3 1/2 week trip, in which they covered 6,250 miles
without any car trouble or flat tires. However, Thursday morning when Mrs.
Vinger went to get some things out of the car, there was one tire flat. Guess it
held up just as long as it could.
The Vingers went from Greenwood to
Nashville, Tenn., where they visited their daughter Shirley and family. On
leaving there they drove to Tucson, Ariz., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Don
Cothers, former Neillsville residents, then on to Phoenix, Ariz., where they
visited Mr. and Mrs. Buford Schoonover, former Loyal residents. From here they
went to San Diego, Calif. and visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dam, also former Loyal
residents. While in California they made several trips in Mexico, as well as
many sightseeing trips into California.
The Vingers returned via
Nashville, Tenn., where they visited their daughter and family. On the first
trip, Shirley and Patty were both ill, but had recovered nicely by the time they
returned.
However, after the wonderful trip and lovely scenery, Wisconsin
still looked good to them.
