Swieso, Wilbert (Accident - 23
FEB 1952)
Wilbert Swieso, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso, suffered
minor injuries in a head-on collision with a milk truck near Thorp, Sunday, Feb.
23 at about 8:00 o'clock.
The driver of the truck, August Mertens,
Withee, was not injured. Swieso, who was driving east, was returning from Byron,
S.D., where he had spent the weekend with friends and relatives. He was thrown
from his car to the pavement by the impact, and received cuts and bruises. He
was taken to the Stanley Hospital for X-rays and treatment, and was brought to
his home here on Monday.
Wilbert's car, a 1951 model, was completely
demolished, and the truck, which was overturned, was extensively damaged.
