Stabnow of Baraboo spent the weekend here.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Sloniker
and son Dennis of Milwaukee spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Sloniker.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Nancy, and Mrs. Minnie Cox
visited Sunday at the Jessie Offord home at Thorp.
Mrs. Neillie Stafford,
who suffered a stroke before Christmas and who has spent the past two months
with her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Paul Rossman at Withee, returned
to her home here last week.
Mrs. Ann Larson and daughter Mabel spent last
week in Milwaukee visiting relatives. Mrs. Larson also visited her son Lee, a
patient at the Veteran's Administration Hospital at Wood, Wis. Lee was recently
injured in an auto accident. If his Greenwood friends would care to send him
cards, his address is Lee Larson, Veteran's Administration, Wood, Wis.
O.J. Howard entered Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, last Friday for treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Syth and Mary and Mrs. Simon Wehrman were Marshfield
callers Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Haunschild and children spent
Sunday with relatives at Mondovi.
Mrs. Theo Humke returned Saturday,
March 1st from a two week visit with relatives and friends at La Cross and New
Albin, Iowa.
Irvin Carl was at Phillips Sunday afternoon, where he
attended a Fireman's School.
Mrs. C.E. Gorsegner, who has been traveling
in the south and Mexico, returned home last week.
Robert Ramin, Ivan
Ruzic, Jake Speich, Ernest Elmer and Gilbert Rohde were at Thorp on Tuesday and
attended a Midland District meeting.
The Gleaner is in receipt of a
letter from Mrs. C.M. Noetzel stating she is leaving California for McIntosh,
S.D. to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Walter Lawein, before
returning to Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kehrberg and sons Mark and
Randy of Loyal spent Sunday at the George Haeuser home.
Mr. and Mrs.
Bernard Denk visited Friday evening at the Wilbur Kehrberg home at Loyal.
Roxy Behrens of Tioga spent a few days last week with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Behrens.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Malnar and family and Dorothy
Kebl visited at Marshfield Saturday.
Mrs. Laverne Brown spent Thursday
and Friday at the Stanley Hospital with her brother, who underwent an operation
for appendicitis.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Denk visited at Marshfield on
Saturday.
Jimmy Ellingson is ill with bronchial pneumonia.
Mr. and
Mrs. Arlan Hubert of Deforest visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Huber, a
week ago Sunday.
Mmes. Gilbert Meyer, W.A. Stewart and Everett Humke were
Marshfield callers Friday.
Mrs. W.A. Stewart attended teh funeral of Mrs.
Augusta Karow at Owen last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Sykes and Janet
of Cameron and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ramin visited at the Lafe Hendrickson home in
Marshfield Sunday afternoon.
March came in like a Lamb Saturday, but by
Sunday it started acting more like a Lion. How the month will end is the $64.00
question.
Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Ellingson and sons spent Tuesday and
Wednesday of last week at Strum visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Indgjer
and attended the basketball tournament.
Victor Kohlnhofer of Minneapolis
and Pvt. Francis Kohlnhofer of Fort Sheridan, Ill. spent the weekend with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kohlnhofer.
S-Sgt. Dale Jolivette of Tyndal Air
Force Base, Florida, is spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Jolivette.
Miss Virginia Ampe, who attends school at La Crosse, spent the
weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ampe.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin
Hoesly and Mike of Madison and Miss Joan Barnes of Marshfield spent the weekend
with their parents, Dr. and Mrs. R.L. Barnes.
Bernard May, who attends
the University at Madison, spent the weekend here.
Joe Gregorich Jr. is
ill with pneumonia.
Dr. and Mrs. Allen Pacholke of Minneapolis, Minn.
were guests at the Louis Vogel home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Val Jeras
visited with their uncle Matt Kramerich Sunday afternoon. He is a patient at St.
Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken and Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Verschay and son Richy visited Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tolaney at Stevens
Point Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Paulson and daughter Yvonne of Amery
spent Saturday and Sunday with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Ramin.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Anderson and son Kenny left Saturday for their
home in Kansas City, Mo., after spending a week at the home of her parent's, Mr.
and Mrs. John Verschay.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso and son Wilbert spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede and children at Arcadia.
Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Abbott and daughter spent the weekend with the former's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Keller.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hegglund and Mrs. Corrine
Martin and daughter Nancy of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Scherr and
daughters Margaret Ann and Rometta of Wausau spent Sunday at the Peter Scherr
and Florian Herrick home.
Mrs. Herman Haase, who has been in Chicago the
past month, and her sister, Miss Tillie Kessler, spent the weekend at the Otto
Horn and Albert Franz homes. They were accompanied back to Chicago by Mrs. Otto
Horn and Mrs. Albert Franz, who will spend until Thursday there visiting
relatives and friends.
