Miss Myrtle Nelson and Virgil James Ivey were married in the Navy
Chapel at San Diego, Calif. on Saturday, March 8, 1952. The double ring ceremony
was performed by the Methodist Chaplain.
The bride's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Nelson, Millston, Wis.. Mrs. Kathryn Ivey, Owen, Wis., R. 1 is the
mother of the groom.
For her wedding, the bride wore a gray suit with
pink accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias.
Mrs. Glen Ivey Jr. was
the bride's matron of honor. She wore a navy blue suit with white accessories
and a corsage of roses.
The groom's brother, Glen Ivey Jr., acted as best
man, and two classmates served as ushers.
Guests present at the wedding
were Mr. Jerry Rathbone, Los Angeles, Calif.,; instructor Chief Harris and
family, San Diego, Calif. and friends and classmates of the groom at the base.
The newlyweds will live in San Diego for the next 18 months, where Virgil is
stationed, having recently graduated from the Commissary School of the U.S.
Navy.
