Draeger, Robert "Bob" R. (8 NOV 1927 - 8 DEC 2013)

Robert "Bob" R. Draeger, 86, Town of Medford, died on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Interment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Pallbearers were his sons, Allen, Duane, Donald, Leroy, Eugene and Brian Draeger.

Robert Draeger was born on November 8, 1927 in the Town of Bern, Marathon County, to the late Robert and Margaret (Schlais) Draeger Sr. He attended Town of Bern elementary school and Medford High School.

On June 14, 1948 in Medford, he married Delores Ann Brushaber, who survives. He farmed most of his life in the Town of Medford, and while farming also worked at the Medford Creamery, Harvey Company and Weather Shield until his retirement.

He enjoyed puzzles, hunting, fishing, playing cards, darts, dancing and watching baseball games. He was a longtime member of the Farmers Union.

In addition to his wife, survivors include 12 children, Janet (Ned) Fischer of Chippewa Falls, Allen Draeger, Duane (Sue) Draeger, Leroy (Marge) Draeger and Marlene Gajda, all of Medford, Donald (Carol) Draeger of Eau Claire, Carol (Gary) Kurth of Ogema, Sharon Ruback of Merrimac, NH, Eugene Draeger of Kronenwetter, Laura (Kerry) Holm of Mantorville, MN, Cynthia "Cindy" (Jim) Annala of Westboro and Brian Draeger of Fairfield, ME; a sister, Arlene (George) Collander of Camden, NJ; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ervin Draeger; two grandchildren, Anthony Fischer and Jason Draeger; a great-granddaughter, Tori Czarnezki; two brothers, Harvey and Dennis Draeger; and a sister, Edith Weiler.
