Roohr, Elizabeth (19 Aug
1887 – 29 Mar 1967)
Mrs. Elizabeth Roohr, 79, Riplinger died at the
Havenette Nursing Home at Owen at 12 noon on March 29.
Cause of death was
old age complications.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s
Lutheran Church at Riplinger on Saturday, April 1. The Rev. M., L. Yonker
officiated and burial was made in the Beaver cemetery. Myre Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Donald Neuman, accompanied by Mrs. Henry
Kuesel at the organ, sang “Softly and Tenderly” and “Nearer My God to Thee.”
Pallbearers were Richard, Hubert, and William Witte, Duane and Glendon
Neuman and Paul Hein Jr.
The former Elizabeth Raeck was born August 19,
1887 in Manitowoc county. She received her education at the Green Grove school.
December 5, 1906 she mattied William Roohr in Clark County. After their marriage
they farmed in the town of Beaver until their retirement in 1946.
They made
their home with children thereafter. The past year she had resided at the
Havenette Nursing Home at Owen.
Her husband preceded her in death in
December of 1949.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church,
Riplinger.
Mrs. Roohr is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Witte
and Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) Neuman, Unity; and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Hein, Owen;
two sons, William, Medford, Oregon; and Adam, Riplinger; two brothers, Fred
Raeck, Unity and Herman Raeck, address unknown; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel
Haedrath, Chicago; Mrs. Lillie Schuette, Unity and Mrs. Leona Ruzik, Manitowoc;
16 grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren.
