Rondorf, Matt (4 MAY 1870 - 26
APR 1952)
Matt Rondorf was born May 4, 1870 in Monroe County, Wis. He
received his education in St. Mary's Ridge and was married there Sept. 1, 1896
to Christine Bous. Shortly after that time they moved to the Town of York (Clark
Co., Wis.), where Mr. Rondorf engaged in farming. Thirty-five years later they
moved to Loyal, residing there since that time.
Mr. Rondorf passed away
at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Saturday, April 26, 1952 of old age
complications.
A Requiem High Mass was read in St. Anthony's Catholic
Church Tuesday morning, April 29 by Rev. Norbert King. The pallbearers were Joe
Walter, Nick Beaver, John Elsinger Sr., John Goetz, William Theisen Sr., and
Richard Braun. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.
He is survived by
his wife, four sons, William of Marshfield, Frank, hoven, S.D., and Joseph and
Alfred of Greenwood; a daughter, Mrs. Nora Buffington, Marshfield; 24
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Marie, and four
brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
