------ Heindl, Rev. Arthur (25th Anniversary –
27 JUN 1965)
The Rev. Arthur Heindl of Fennimore, son of Mrs. Nic
Heindl of rural Abbotsford and the late Mr. Heindl, celebrated the 25th
anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
A solemn high mass at which the Rev. Arthur Heindl was celebrant took
place at St. Louis Catholic church, Dorchester, Sunday, June 27, at 8:15 a.m.
Father Heindl also gave a talk on vocations.
Assisting at the mass as deacon was his brother, the Rev.
Francis Heindl of La Crosse, and as sub-deacon, the Rev. Gerald Schuh, pastor of
St. Louis’ congregation of Dorchester.
After the mass, about 80 relatives gathered at the Heindl
home for a picnic dinner.
Father Heindl attended the seminary at St. Nazians for
six years and completed his theological studies at Collegeville, Minn.
He was ordained to the priesthood May 18, 1940, at La Crosse by the Most
Rev. William Griffin, auxiliary bishop of the La Crosse diocese.
His first assignment was as assistant pastor at St.
John’s church in Marshfield, followed by assistant pastor at St. Paul’s church
at Bloomer, both in the La Crosse diocese.
When the Madison diocese was created he served as assistant pastor at
Lancaster and then as pastor as Seymour, Montfort and Highland.
At present he is the pastor at Fennimore.
