Vanderhyden, Wilfred G. (6 March 1894 - 8 July 1971)
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Thorp for Wilfred G.
Vanderhyden, 77, retired Thorp businessman, who died in Victory Memorial
Hospital, Stanley July 8. The services were held from St. Bernard’s Catholic
Church, with burial in the parish cemetery.
A resident of Thorp for most
of his life, Mr. Vanderhyden was born March 6, 1894, in Hollandtown. He had
retired 12 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion; a charter member
of the Emer Quinn Council, Knights of Columbus of Stanley; a member of the
National Catholic Society of Foresters; and of the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Dorothy)
Carlson of Milwaukee and Mrs. Jack (Anna Marie) Giving of New Richmond; two
sons, Wilfred E., Jr., of Thorp, and Richard of Milwaukee; and 19 grandchildren.
