Greenwood (15 July 1971)
Mrs. Adolph Jackson was dismissed Friday from memorial Hospital in
Neillsville.
A guest Friday at the home of Mrs. Effie Swieso was her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Vernard Swieso of Denver, Colo., who had been called here
by the illness of her mother, Mrs. Elsie Lueck, a patient at Memorial Hospital
in Neillsville. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert White of Loyal.
A
family reunion was held Sunday at the Celen Gotter Cottage at Mead Lake. Those
present were the Rev. and Mrs. Harold Verhulst and family of Milbank, S. D.,
Miss Corrine Verhulst of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Franz of Mesa,
Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Resch of Marshfield, Miss Ruth Verhulst, Mr. and Mrs.
Celen Gotter and Mrs. and Mrs. Lyle Verhulst of Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Verhulst and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Verhulst and family of Greenwood.
Thirty-four members and guests of the Clark County Historical Society attended a
picnic Saturday at the Greenwood Park. A 4 p.m. potluck lunch, was served.
Prizes were awarded. During the afternoon tours were taken of the new elementary
school in Greenwood, Greenwood Homes, Inc., the Black Riverview apartments and
Greenwood Campers.
Orton Dahlby and daughters, Jill and Jane, visited
recently with his mother, Mrs. George Vollrath and his sister, Mrs. Eleanora
Plank.
Visitors Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kaudy were Leon
Metcalf and grandson, Larry Metcalf, of Chicago, Vincent Sennott and son Robert
of Colgate and kenneth Metcalf.
Weekend visitors at the Godfrey Dyre
home, were their daughters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamonica, Mark and
Joseph, of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Olson and Travis of
Glenwood City.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tipton returned to Jefferson Monday
after spending several days at the home of Mrs. Mary Klune.
