Noah, Mathilda (11 OCT 1874 - 17 JUN 1952)
Mrs. Mathilda Noah, nee Pagenkopf, was born Oct. 11, 1874 in Germany. She
came to this country with her parents at the age of two and settled in
Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).
On June 19, 1896 she was married at
Neillsville to Simon Noah. They moved to a farm near Greenwood that year and
resided there until 1910, when they moved to Loyal. Mr. Noah passed away in
1942.
In April of this year she went to Willard to make her home with her
son Arthur. She was a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, for the past
few weeks.
Mrs. Noah passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Friday, June
17, 1952 at 7:15 p.m.
She is survived by seven sons, Herman, Spencer;
Rudolph and George, Milwaukee; William Oshkosh; Alvin, Minneapolis; Arthur,
Willard; and Edward, Janesville; two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Martha) Nelson,
Venice, Calif. and Mrs. Howard (Lena) Corey, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest
Junchen, Granton; Mrs. J. Meyers, California; three brothers, Herman,
Neillsville; Emil, Kenosha; and Rheinhold, California; 27 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
One son also preceded her in death.
Funeral
services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st at the Loyal Methodist
Church, the Rev. Lee Holmes officiated. She was laid to rest in the Loyal
Cemetery.
