Cwikla, Paul "Butch" R. Sr. (6 NOV 1941 - 10 DEC 2013)
Paul "Butch" R. Cwikla Sr., age 72, of Lublin, went to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, Dec. 14 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Father Madanu
Sleeva Raju will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. The
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is serving the family.
He was born
on November 6, 1941, the son of Chester and Mary Cwikla, in Milwaukee. Butch
left the farm at age 17 to go to Chicago, Ill., for several years. He met and
married his wife, Jill, on May 10, 1963. They returned to the Lublin/Owen area
in 1967.
Butch loved fishing, deer hunting and watching Owen-Withee High
School football. His children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter were his
great love. His little Beagle, Opi, brought great pleasure to him. He could be
seen going for walks several times every day.
Butch is survived by his
wife of 50 years, Jill; daughter, Robin (Carl) Thomsen; son, Paul "Bubby"
(Vanessa) Cwikla Jr.; his grandchildren, Angela Thomsen, Amy Thomsen, and
Kaitlyn, Jesse, Erin, Gretchen, Ransom and Avalon Cwikla; and one
great-granddaughter, Kamiya Anne Carter. He is further survived by two brothers,
Donald (Barb) Cwikla and Richard (Faye) Cwikla; two sisters, Judy (Mike) Kawa
and Shirley (Dell) Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded
in death by his parents; brother, Daniel; sister, Marjorie Haynes; nephew, Troy
Cwikla; and niece, Missy Kawa.
