Stiemann, Henry J. (17 OCT 1932 - 22 DEC 2013)

Henry J. Stiemann, age 81, of Owen, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1PM on Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Steven Brice will officiate. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in the Town of Hixon, Clark County. A visitation will be held on Monday at the church in Loyal from 11AM until time of services. Henry's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Henry was born October 17, 1932 in Drersteinfurt, Germany to Heinrick and Elisabeth (Meiertoberend) Stiemann. He attended St. Regina church and schools and obtained a two year college degree in agriculture in Munster. In May 1952 at the age of 19 he immigrated to Canada, where he worked on farms and during the winter he worked in the woods. He then moved to St. Agatha and farmed and worked in a packing plant. In 1959, Henry and Patricia Henhoeffer were united in marriage. The family immigrated to Owen in 1967 where they have farmed ever since.

Henry loved politics, the farm bureau and knew world history.

Survivors include his wife Patricia of Owen; five children: Elisabeth Stangl of Indiana; Joseph (Susan) Stiemann of Greenwood; Monica (Tom) Kaiser of Edgar; John Stiemann of Owen and Philip (Sheryl) Stiemann. Henry is further survived by four sisters in Germany and one brother: Ted Stiemann in Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
