Wolf, Alice Marie (23 July 1922 - 17 December 2013)
Alice M. Wolf, 91, of
Neillsville joined our Heavenly Father Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by family.
Alice Marie Johnson was
born July 23, 1922, in Carney, MI, the daughter of Gustaf Adolph and Edith
(Frederickson) Johnson. She attended and graduated from Stephenson High School
in Carney. Alice moved to Chicago where she worked as a nanny and also at a
hospital in the newborn ward. She was united in marriage to Gerald Wolf. Alice
went to work for Brudno Art Supplies. About this time, they bought a farm north
of Neillsville and spent their summers there. In 1969, they decided to move to
Wisconsin permanently. Alice got a job with the Singer Sewing Company in
Marshfield and then the First National Bank in Neillsville where she worked for
25 years.
Alice loved puzzles of all kinds, watching old movies and
crocheting. She served as the treasurer of the Red Cross Blood Mobile and was a
member of the Young at Heart Club, Clark County Homemakers and Living Hope
Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by four children, Denise
(Lonnie) DeMoe of Garland, TX, Jackie (Philip) Weichelt of Granton, Pam (Phil)
Ogan of Dixon, IL, and Gerry Wolf of Desert Center, CA; six grandchildren,
Jessup (Liana) Nicole, Jennifer (Ben), Taylor, Kimberly (Greg) and Jason
(Sunshine); and two great-granddaughters, Lluvy Alice and Novalee Rae. Alice is
further survived by a brother, Paul (Jeanne) Johnson of Sycamore, IL; a
brother-in-law, Len Sponberg of Fort Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Ray
Johnson; and a sister, Lois Sponberg.
Funeral services for Alice were
held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free
Church. Pastor Steven Wentz officiated. Music was provided by Kathy Meshnick,
pianist. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the
Living Hope Evangelical Free Church and also Saturday morning one hour prior to
the service. Interment was in Dells Dam Cemetery in the Town of Levis.
Casketbearers were Philip Weichelt, Jessup Weichelt, Troy Kuehn and Phil Ogan.
