Mr. and Mrs. Pat Laughlin of Beaver Dam visited at the Russell Edwards home
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Washechek and Arthur Picker of Milwaukee are
spending a week at the Fred Kocher home.
Mr. and Mrs. Val Jeras, Mrs.
Cecil Anderson and son Kenneth visited at the Tony Jeras home Monday.
Mr.
and Mrs. Mat Dergance of Chicago are visiting at the Frank Laken and Ed Dergance
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dergance of Chicago are visiting at the Ed
Dergance home.
Lawrence Cox has purchased the Mrs. Ida Sheets residence
from Miss Evangeline Sheets and is doing some remodeling prior to renting same.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mikottis and children of Bensenville, Ill. and Donna
Langnor, Chicago, arrived Saturday and will spend some time here.
Mrs.
Henry Haunschild of Gilmanton and Mrs. Frank White of Toos Bay, Oregon are
visiting with Louis and Harlan Haunschild and Albert Neuenfeldt families. Mrs.
White is a sister of Louis Haunschild.
Mrs. Tom Erickson returned last
week from Madison, where she visited at the home of her son Burnell and family.
She was accompanied home by her grandchildren Joyce and John Erickson, who will
spend some time visiting here.
Mrs. Selma Thiel, who is a student nurse
at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, is spending a two week vacation here with her
mother, Mrs. Mamie Thiel. They spent from Wednesday until Monday in North Dakota
with relatives.
Mrs. Ted Hendricks of Withee and Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Hendricks and daughters returned from Milwaukee Wednesday. They visited with Mr.
and Mrs. David Moon, parents of Mrs. Bob Hendricks, while there.
Glen
Drew of Milwaukee spent the weekend here with his family.
Myron Thwing,
who is employed at Baraboo, spent the weekend here with his family.
Mrs.
Chal Perkins and Miss Evangeline Sheets were Marshfield callers Saturday
afternoon.
Marlene Robertson of St. Paul is visiting her uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. Al Larson.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trotar and sons and Mrs.
Catherine Jeras of Riverside, Ill. are visiting at the Tony Jeras home.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Laabs of Milwaukee are spending a week's vacation at the Wm.
Blazel home at Hayward, and with friends and relatives at Cornell and Stanley.
Mrs. Lee Jolivette and Miss Irene O'Connell were Marshfield callers Saturday
afternoon. Miss Elaine Jolivette accompanied them home for the weekend.
F.W. Hemp of Wis. Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Hemp and Mrs. Chas. Neil Sr.,
Neillsville, visited on Tuesday of last week at the Ed Buker home.
Mrs.
Joe Jeras and son Joe and daughter Carol of Lyons, Ill. are visiting at the Joe
Tolaney and Frank Laken homes.
Rayetta Dusso, 11 years old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dusso, Loyal, is a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield suffered with a boken leg.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Decker, Idaho,
visited her sister, Mrs. Lydia Miller at the Arno Miller home Monday. Evening
visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goodell and family, Washington.
Mr.
Vinger informs us that the Palmer Vinger Agency services over 100 claims in the
last two storms that hit Clark and adjoining counties. Mr. Vinger and Wm.
Kavanaugh were kept busy adjusting claims, as was also the office force, who
were congratulated by the company by letter, for the excellent service rendered
the policy holders.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wells were Marshfield callers
Saturday.
Mrs. Cy Reindel, Neillsville, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Erwin
Grap Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. John Nibbe of Owen visited at the
Gilbert Rohde home Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. M. Klapatauskas Jr. and
Mickey and their company from Indiana called at the Kitzhaber home Sunday
afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nolan were at Auburndale Sunday, where
they attended a horse pulling contest. Gene's tam won first place.
Mr.
and Mrs. Harlan Brux, son Gary and daughter Kathryn, returned home Sunday from a
visit with relatives and friends in the southern part of the state, Chicago and
Gary,. Indiana.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Klancher and daughter, Mrs.
Christopherson of Chicago, are visiting relatives and friends here and at
Willard.
Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Deiler, Chicago arrived Saturday for a visit
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Kitzhaber.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robbins and
Caryl Ann of Ellsworth visited Thursday and Friday with her mother Mrs. Wm.
Toburen and with her father Wm. Toburen, who is a patient at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens were at Auburndale
Sunday, where they attended a horse pulling contest.
Mmes. C.J. Carter,
Wm. Dallman, Arnold Beyer and Earl Sloniker were Marshfield callers Friday.
Mrs. Wallace Brey and sons Jimmy and Art, Neillsville, spent Monday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Kitzhaber.
Misses Marian Voigt, Cora Kocher
and Kay Schwarze and Len Kocher, all of Marshfield, called on friends here
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gerlach of Neillsville visited at the Jake
Speich home Saturday.
Mrs. Alfred Schneider and two children of Ladysmith
visited Sunday at the Robert Schneider home.
Mrs. Robert Schneider and
children attended the funeral of Mrs. Viola Stock at Curtiss last Thursday.
Mrs. John Wuethrich, Mrs. Allen Wuethrich, Linda and Sammy, spent last
Thursday at the W.O. Hartson home at Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Schwarze and sons of Madison spent the weekend at the Wesley Schwarze home and
other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Meyer and Joyce and
Mrs. Adolph Meyer spent Sunday at the Orlando Myer home at Cameron and attended
the Confirmation services for David Meyer.
Mr. and Mrs. George Osterhaus
of Plainfield, Mr. and Mrs. Buck Jenson and children, Rib Lake, and Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Stewart Jr. and children of Stanley spent Sunday at the Robert Stewart
Sr. home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Warner and children of Chetek spent
Sunday here and their infant son William Jon was baptized at Our Savior's Luther
Church. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Behrens were sponsors.
Chief Petty officer and
Mrs. L.B. Koschak and family of Jacksonville, Fla. Are visiting his mother, Mrs.
Jennie Koschak, Willard, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Francel, aslo at
Willard.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner were at
Owen Monday evening where they attended a 6:30 banquet in honor of Fay McCray,
who is retiring as a rural mail carrier. A program was given.
Mr. and
Mrs. R.J. Thompson and Pattie Jo, who have been residing in Nashville, Tenn.,
arrived Sunday and will now make their home in Greenwood. Mrs. Thompson will be
remembered as Shirley Vinger.
Mrs. Robert Stewart, who underwent surgery
at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield last week, returned hom Sunday.
Mr.
and Mrs. Irvin Carl and family attended the Carl Mitte wedding at Neillsville
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jolivette and children of Pinebush, N.Y.
are visiting relatives and friends here.
Mrs. Cecil Anderson and family
of Kansas City, Mo. Are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sloniker and Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stewart spent Sunday at
Monda Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kampschoer and son moved Monday to
Westfield, where he has accepted a position as Ag. Teacher.
Lola Marie
Pfeiffer, Milwaukee, and Junior Thiede, Arcadia, are visiting their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso.
Mrs. Albert Herr is receiving
treatment at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield following a heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Indgjer and Sharon of Detroit, Mich. visited at the E.S.
Ellingson home from Monday until Wednesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Scherr and family of Wausau visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Scherr and at the Florian Herrick home Sunday.
Harland Carl, who attends
University at Madison, is now attending R.O.T.C. at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He,
with three other students, left Madison on June 18, by car, and spent one day in
Washington, D.C., arriving at Fort Eustis on June 21st. Prior to leaving Hy
spent three days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Carl.
Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Hawley and daughter of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Scalanshaft and
daughter, and Miss Doreen Hawley, Loyal, Mrs. Della Haley, Neillsville, and Mrs.
Neal Tompkins and children of route 3, spent Sunday with Mrs. John Hawley.
Mrs. Joe Jeras and son Joe, Lyons, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken and son
George visited with Mr. and Mrs. Val Jeras Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Decker of Cour de Lane, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goodell and
family of Tekoa, Wash., left for their home Tuesday, after spending a few days
here visiting relatives. Mrs. Goodell is a daughter of the Deckers.
The
Misses Joan Barnes and Donna Mae Baird spent from Monday until Thursday of last
week at the Irvin Hoesley home at Madison and visited Miss Arlene Larson at the
Wm. Korupp home at Barneveld, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Buker, Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Kuester, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Polnaszek, Thorp, returned Sunday
from a fishing trip and outing at the Buker cabin at Phelps. Art caught a 50
inch Muskie, which weighed 31 pounds.
Monday evening callers at the Otto
Reineking home were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goodell
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laube, Mrs. Harvey Schwarze, Harlan Nielsen, Mr.
and Mrs. Norbert Kuester and Gladys.
Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Corey and sons
Garya nd Jack left Friday for California. Gary went to Camp Stoneman, from where
he will leave for overseas. The others will visit relatives at Gardena. They
were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Everett nelson and family of Gardena, Calif.,
who have been visiting here and who attended the funeral of Mathilda Noah.
