Renee Paun, the six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Paun, has returned
home from Memorial Hospital where she was a surgical patient.
Mr. and
Mrs. William Schmidtke and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Summers of Spencer joined Mr. and
Mrs. Wendell Summers and family of Wisconsin Dells at the Dexter Park at
Dexterville for a picnic last weekend.
Edna Jahnke arrived Sunday
evening to spend some time with Mrs. Verla Hales. Her sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. H. Winkler, drove to Beloit and brought her back to Granton.
The LaVern Vanderwysts entertained Sunday with a birthday party in honor of
their grandson, Doulas Sholly. Guests included Mrs. Frank Sholly and Peter,
Darlene Vanderwyst and Scott Vanderwyst of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Kademan of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Vanderwyst, Cindy, Sandy, and Larry, and
Mr and Mrs. Harold Vanderwyst and Nathan of Alpena, Mich. The Harold Vanderwysts
spent the weekend at the La Vern Vanderwyst home.
Mr. and Mrs. William
Lehman visited with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bladl, at Green Lake Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert, Jr., and family of Melrose Park, Ill., visited
from Wednesday to Saturday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Hillert, Sr. Visitors at the Hillert home on Sunday were their grandson and his
wife, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hillert of River Falls.
Margo Ganther, the
daughter of Mr and Mrs. Clarence Ganther of Rt. 1 Granton, is included on the
Dean’s List of honor students at Eau Claire State University for the second
semester. Miss Ganther, who is majoring in music, will begin her senior year
this fall at the Eau Claire school.
The W.S.C.S. of the Granton United
Methodist Church is to meet Thursday, August 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the church. The
August hostess will be Mrs. Leah Church. Mrs. Ethel Berg is the program
chairman. Members are urged to attend.
The Granton Women’s Civic Club
will sponsor a bake sale this Friday evening, July 30, beginning at 7 p.m. at
Harry’s Hardware in Granton. Proceeds will be used to buy books for the Granton
Public Library. Donations of food and money will be appreciated.
