Mary Jo Withbroe, 85, De Pere, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Rennes Health Care Center in De Pere.

Family and friends may call Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Friends of the Brown Co. Library or the American Diabetes Association

Mary Jo Withbroe, 85, De Pere, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Rennes Health Care Center in De Pere. She was born January 30, 1928 in Green Bay, daughter to the late Norman and Mary Ann (Engels) Noack.

Her mother died when Mary Jo was 16 years old and she shared the responsibility of parenting her 5 younger siblings. She naturally took on the role of parenting 5 younger siblings. Mary Jo graduated from Green Bay West High School, and married Alton (Al) Withbroe on June 25, 1949; he preceded her in death on October 27, 2010.

She was employed at Dental City as an Administrative Assistant for many years.

Mary Jo was always the center of family get-togethers and provided positive support to all her children and grandchildren throughout their lives.

She enjoyed walking, puzzles, reading, music, golf, traveling, fishing, the NBA, gardening, family outings, cooking, and working at Dental City.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Patty (Doug) Riske, Athens, WI, Ray (Shar) Withbroe, Dave (Barb) Withbroe, all of Green Bay, Karen Withbroe, Gurnee, IL, and Bill Withbroe, De Pere; four grandchildren: Rachel and Allison Riske, and Adam (Shelby) and Abbie Withbroe; sisters, Norma (George) Wrobel, Gerry (Bob) Johnson; brothers, John (Carol) Noack and Paul (Penny) Noack; sister-in-law, Shirley Withbroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jo was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia (Wayne) Pansier; and two brothers, Bill Noack and Don (Mary Lou) Noack.
