Verlyn D. Ross, 86, Marathon, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at
Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
December 28, 2013, at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern
will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery.
Friends may call
Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar,
and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:45 p.m. prayer service Friday evening at the Edgar funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Circle of Joy
or the St. Stephen's Endowment Fund, Edgar.

God's Steward of the Land, Verlyn D. Ross,
age 86, Marathon, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1927 in Thorp, son of the late Adolph and Helena
(Ploman) Ross. On June 21, 1949 he married Jane Braunel in Marathon. She
survives.
Verlyn was a dairy farmer and hosted the 1996 Farm Progress
Days.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, Marathon; children, Kathryn
(Ervin) Kufahl, Reeds Spring, MO; Roger (Debbie) Ross, Edgar; Randall (Sharon)
Ross, Marathon; Ricky (Sara) Ross, Eden Prairie, MN; and Robert (Kathy) Ross,
Edgar; grandchildren, Robin Gasai, Ryan, Richard, Anna, Andrew, Matthew, David,
Emily and Peter Ross; great-grandson, Marcus Ross; sisters, Dorothy Hoppenworth,
Edgar, Berdine Bothe, Watertown, and Arvilla May, Texas.
Besides his
parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral
service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Stephen Ev.
