Tischendorf, Gerald E. (6 OCT 1946 - 20 DEC 2013)

Gerald (Jerry or Butch) Earl Tischendorf passed away Dec. 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was born in Dorchester on Oct. 6, 1946, to George and Florence (Gurney) Tischendorf. He went to Draper Grade School and finished at Dor-Abby High School.

He married Cathy Block at Wabasha, Minn., on July 2, 1966. He enjoyed building things for his grandchildren, gardening and sitting around a campfire. Jerry worked for GET in Milwaukee and Michaels Pipeline until 1972, when he started his own business in construction and building.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Cathy; three sons, Bob (Peggy Knippel) and his son, Steven, of Dorchester; Wayne (Karen) and his children, Cameron and Jade (Erik) of Dorchester; James and his three children, Austin, Blake and Joslyn of Dorchester; a daughter, Kimberly (Steve Silso) and her children, Kierra and Nicki of Medford; two great-grandchildren; one brother, George Tischendorf Jr. of Abbotsford; and a sister, Mary Dampier of Janesville.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Konecny; his brother-in-law, Fritz Dampier; and two nephews, Brad Dampier and Richard Konecny.

Jerry was cremated at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home in Schofield. A celebration of his life will be announced in the spring/summer at his home place.
