Miller, Diann R. (10 AUG 1937 - 27 DEC 2013)

Diann Rose Miller, age 76, of Janesville died on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Rock Haven Nursing Home. She was born in Colby, WI, on August 10, 1937, the daughter of Albert A. and Theresa C. (Wilhelm) Weix. Diann graduated from Colby High School in 1955 and later married Arnold J. Miller on August 24, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, WI. Her husband of 34 years preceded her in death on February 17, 1992. After they were married, they moved to Janesville, and later Clinton, WI. Diann and her husband were one of the 80 founding families of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Clinton. Upon her husband's retirement from General Motors, the couple relocated to Friendship, WI. After her husband's death, Diann moved back to Janesville to be close to her family. She was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, Janesville.

Diann earned an Associate Degree from Blackhawk Tech. as a License Practical Nurse. During her lifetime, she often worked part time in Nursing Homes and as an in-home caregiver. She was a talented watercolor painter, and made many of her own greeting cards. She enjoyed outings with her family, playing cards, bingo and attending the Senior Center. Diann was grateful for having a devoted family, all of whom she was very proud of. She was a member of UAW Local 95.

She is survived by her three sons, Darrell J. "Jim" (Jackie) Miller of Holly Springs, NC; Mark (Sandra) Miller of Janesville; and Bruce Miller of Janesville; her granddaughter, Anne Miller and great-grandson, Carson. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, David (Judy) Weix of Colby; Barbara (Paul) Kipp of Penny Farms, FL; Albert (Doris) Weix, Jr. of Eau Claire, WI; Lawrence (Lou Ann) Weix of Green Bay, WI; Donna Franson of Minneapolis, MN; Lynn (Arnold) Lueth of Sparta, WI; Judy (Larry) Gorski of Mosinee, WI; Joseph (Rhonda) Weix of Spencer, WI; and Julianne (Eric) Gerlach of Marshfield, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday January 6th, 2014, at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 313 E. Wall St from 11:00 am to noon. A Funeral Mass will follow with Father Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Lunch will be provided following the service. On Tuesday, January 7th, family and friends are invited to the Hanson-Shilling Funeral Home, 201 S. LaSalle St., Spencer, WI from noon until 1:00 pm. Committal services will follow at West Spencer Cemetery, next to her husband.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Mercy Hospital, Our House Assisted Living, and Rock Haven for their skilled and loving care provided during our Mother's last days with us. You are truly God's Angels!
