Peterson, Thomas M. (3 MAR 1947

Thomas M. Peterson, age 66, of Owen, passed away
surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Ministry Saint
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on
Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Curtiss. The Rev.
Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00
PM on Friday, December 27 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and from
1:00 PM until time of services Saturday at the church.
Thomas was born on
March 3, 1947, the son of Ralph and Gwen (Herrick) Peterson in Wausau. He grew
up in Curtiss and graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1965 and then
attended UW-River Falls. On December 8, 1979, Tom was united in marriage to
Linda Honsey in Hudson. He returned to the Peterson Family Farm in Curtiss where
he farmed for 18 years. Tom then received an Associate Degree in Fluid Power
Maintenance and worked at Land O' Lakes in Spencer for 14 years.
He
enjoyed hunting, watching football, especially the Packers, and NASCAR, shooting
pool, taking care of his yard and being outdoors.
Thomas is lovingly
survived by his wife, Linda of Owen; five children: Sarah (Tom) Hietpas of Lake
Elmo, MN, Laura (David) Bailey of White Bear Lake, MN, Nicole (Chris) Jack of
Taylors Falls, MN, Brian Peterson of Minneapolis, MN and Benjamin Peterson of
Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren: Quentin, Paige, Henry, Ashley, Jordan, TJ
and Megan. He is further survived by his mother, Gwen Peterson of Owen; four
siblings: Dick Peterson of Owen, Jim (Debbie) Peterson of Chippewa Falls, Carol
(Tim) Devine of Owen and Nancy (Dan) McAleese of Addison, IL; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Ralph and his brother, Gary.
