MacBride, Beatrice Mary (23 MAY 1916)
Cards have been received announcing
the marriage of Miss Beatrice Mary MacBride to Clifford Burgess Godwin, which
took place yesterday morning at the New Cathedral, the Rev. Father Spencer
officiating.
Mrs. Godwin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar W.
MacBride of No. 342 Newstead Avenue. Her father is a well-known resident of St.
Louis, connected for many years with the American Express Co. Mrs. Godwin is a
graduate of the Sacred Heart Convent School at St. Louis, as well as the
Marysville, Mo., Academy, taking high honors in both schools.
Mr. Godwin
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Godwin of 5064 Washington Boulevard, a graduate
of Washington University, class of 1913. A civil engineer by profession and for
a time was employed by the U.S. government on the Panama Canal.
Mr.
Godwin and his bride will be at home at 5578 Clemens Ave., after June 15th. –

Mrs. Godwin is well known in this
city, being a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.J. MacBride, and having visited
here for several summers. Her bright and pleasing personality won her a large
circle of friends here who will join in tendering their congratulations.
