Pleasant Ridge (22 Jun 1916)
There will be an ice cream social at Henry
Carter’s Friday evening.
League was held at the church Sunday night and
these meetings will continue to be held every Sunday night during vacation.
Miss Ruth Carter entertained a number of young people at her home Thursday
evening for the Hiles young people to give them a chance to get acquainted with
the young people here.
There was a surprise party at Joe Brown’s home
Friday evening for Wm. Kaulman and wife.
Myron Counsell of New York
visited his relatives here last Friday.
Mrs. Emil Jahr will entertain the
Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon. She will be assisted by Mesdames H.O. and Lon
Huckstead.
Ira Slocomb is home from Madison for the summer vacation.
Mrs. Oscar Johnson and children of Granton spent a few days of last week
with her mother, Mrs. Wm. Waterpool. She spent Saturday with Mrs. Richard
Selves.
Miss Minnie Ward returned to Canada after spending part of last
week with Mrs. Clems Kuetchenmeister. They spent Saturday with Mrs. Lon
Huckstead.
Mr. Root has re-shingled his barn and built an auto house.
O.E. Counsell and Jim Hughes are putting up fine new auto houses this week.
Estella Selves and Daphane Blackman spent Tuesday with Leola Geisler at Geo.
Howard’s.
Charley Johnson of Black River Falls was a guest at H.O.
Huckstead’s a few days last week.
Nina Selves is at Albert Schultz’s this
week.
Three of Richard Selves’ children have the mumps.
Little
Donald West cut his lip quite badly one day last week.
