Manthey, Helen (29 JUN 1916)
On Thursday
afternoon at 2 o’clock Miss Helen Manthey and Michael Gall were united in
marriage by Rev. Brandt at the Globe Lutheran Church. The bride was attended by
Miss Edith Schoenwetter and Miss Emma McLesky and the groom by Alvin Gall and
Emil Manthey. The bride wore a gown of white crepe de chien and carried a shower
bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Schoenwetter wore a gown
of figured satin and Miss McLesky a gown of white crepe de chien and both
carried pink and white carnations. At the conclusion of the ceremony the wedding
party drove to the home of the bride’s parents where a bounteous dinner was
served at 5 o’clock and the happy event duly celebrated by a large number of
guests.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Manthey of town
Seif, and is a young lady of prepossessing appearance and pleasing demeanor. The
groom is a son of Mrs. Mary Gall and lived here for many years, but is now
engaged at his trade as a machinist in Minneapolis. He is a capable and
energetic young man and a general favorite with all who know him. He and his
bride will leave for their new home in a few days to take up housekeeping.
