Barnett, Sylvia Velona (29 FEB 1840 – 27 JUN 1916)

Mrs. Sylvia Velona Barnett died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Clintsman, in the town of Weston, June 27, 1916, at the age of 76 years and three months.

Sylvia V. Ramsdell was born in Vermont Feb. 29, 1840, came to Manitowoc with her parents when a child and from there she moved to Rightstown. She was united in marriage on June 14, 1862, to Hiram W. Barnett, moved to Cloud Co., Kansas, in 1877, returned to Wisconsin in 1891 and settled on a farm in the town of Weston, where she lived until 1913, when she moved to the village of Loyal.

She was visiting at the home of her daughter when she was suddenly taken with a stroke of paralysis. She leaves to mourn her loss, six daughters and one son, Mrs. Ellen Clintsman of Weston, Mrs. Etta Shuman of Beloit, Warren and Hattie at home, Mrs. Abbie Holt of Pine City, Minn., Mrs. Alma Babcock of Janesville and Mrs., Clara Bremer of the town of Weston, also 29 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and three sisters, and other relatives and friends.

Gone, But Not Forgotten
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love has given,
Although the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in heaven.
